The Steam Clock - Sketch

Also available in:

Perhaps, one of the most iconic landmarks in Vancouver, the Steam Clock in Vancouver’s Gas Town District is known by every Vancouverite and is a favourite among visitors.  Every 15 minutes the clock sounds and each hour is accompanied by whistling melodies. A little-known fact is that the clock was built in 1977 to cover a steam vent that the city thought was not aesthetically pleasing. Although, historically not too old, it does bring a smile and a memory to many.  The area is filled with cobble stone streets, restaurants, galleries and shops that all add to the fun of Vancouver’s steam clock.
